Appleby Creamery has been making handmade cheese in Cumbria's Eden Valley since 2007, led by cheesemaker Maurice Walton and a team where several staff have been with the business since their teens. Milk comes almost entirely from local farms - the goat's milk travels barely eight miles from Meaburn Hall Farm - and the range spans soft, smoked and hard cheeses built on genuine skill rather than shortcuts. Eden Smokie, their smoked brie, has won gold at the Great Yorkshire Show and the International Cheese Awards, plus a Great British Food Awards win, while Eden Valley Brie holds a Great Taste star and its own International Cheese Awards golds. The creamery was also one of the first in the UK to make a Halloumi-style cheese. Now stocked at Booths and shortlisted across national competitions, Appleby Creamery proves that Cumbria's cheesemaking tradition is in very good hands. Order the full range online at Farmfetch.
