A delicately smoked version of the ever-popular Eden Chieftain, this cheese is carefully smoked using a blend of apple and oak woods, allowing it to mature naturally in the packaging. The gentle smoking process gives it a mild, irresistible flavour that’s both subtle and moreish. Made from the mature Eden Chieftain, which is typically aged over 12 months, this cheese combines its rich, developed flavour with the delicate smokiness to create a perfectly balanced taste experience.

Made from pasteurised milk and suitable for vegetarians.

Appleby Creamery has been hand-making cheese in Cumbria's Eden Valley since 2007, led by cheesemaker Maurice Walton and his small, dedicated team.

Using milk that comes almost entirely from local farms - the goat's milk travels barely 8 miles from Meaburn Hall Farm - the range spans soft, smoked and hard cheeses built on genuine skill rather than shortcuts. Appleby Creamery proves that Cumbria's cheesemaking tradition is in very good hands!

Every cheese is made from pasteurised milk and is suitable for vegetarians.
