Meet Falfungi, Cornwall’s Gourmet Mushroom Growers
We’re delighted to welcome Falfungi to Farmfetch – a family-run Cornish producer growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms by the sea in West Cornwall. Based in Penryn and led by grower Jamie, Falfungi specialises in the more unusual varieties of fungi that can be difficult to find fresh, with sustainability firmly at the heart of how they grow.
Falfungi’s mission is a simple one: to grow delicious, nutritious and hard-to-find mushrooms as sustainably as possible. Their focus is on varieties that supermarkets can struggle to source at the right freshness and scale, which are otherwise often shipped from abroad. Instead, Falfungi cultivates an impressive selection right on the Cornish coast, including shiitake, lion’s mane, golden enoki and several varieties of oyster mushroom.
Fungi with a lighter footprint
Sustainability is central to Falfungi’s approach. The team’s ultimate goal is to become a fully circular business with as close to zero environmental impact as possible.
That means continually looking for ways to reduce single-use plastic, growing seasonally to minimise energy use, reusing waste materials including coffee grounds and paper, and returning their own waste to the soil as compost. Above all, Falfungi wants to encourage more people to discover just how varied (and delicious) the world of fungi can be.
Discover Falfungi on Farmfetch
We’re starting our Falfungi collection with a selection of dried mushrooms and mushroom-infused Cornish sea salts – ideal for adding plenty of savoury depth to your cooking.
Try the Dried Wild Trompettes de la Mort, a prized variety of wild mushroom with a deep, earthy flavour, or explore the Dried Wild Chanterelles, Porcini and Mixed Oyster Mushrooms.
For something a little different, Falfungi’s mushroom salts bring fungi into an everyday store-cupboard staple. Choose from Cornish Lion’s Mane Salt, Cornish Shii Salt and Cornish Myska Sea Salt, or try the Complete Umami Sea Salt Collection to discover the range.
We’re thrilled to have Falfungi joining the Farmfetch community and bringing a taste of Cornwall’s fascinating fungi to kitchens across the UK.
