Burnt House Vineyard sits on a gently south-facing slope in Little Finborough, Suffolk, on land that has been in the family since 1925. What began as 12 acres of pastureland and arable crops has grown across generations into a thriving farming enterprise - and the vineyard itself is the latest, and perhaps most exciting, chapter in that long story. Committed to sustainable agriculture from the outset, the team have moved away from traditional ploughing in favour of direct drilling, invested in cover cropping to improve soil health and fertility, and introduced wildlife margins and nectar flower areas to support local biodiversity.
The wines themselves are a genuine expression of the Suffolk landscape. Bacchus brings aromatic freshness and a distinctly English character, making it a natural match for our smoked fish or a spread of soft cheeses. The Pinot Meunier Rosé is elegant and food-friendly - try it alongside charcuterie and cured meats for a relaxed summer spread. And the Burnt House Brut, made from estate-grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, holds its own proudly amongst the best of British fizz — a worthy addition to any occasion alongside our wider English sparkling wine range.
For those who love red wine, the Pinot Noir is a delicate, cool-climate expression that rewards attention and pairs beautifully with game, duck or a well-aged cheese.
